Anyone who ever
Put pen to paper
Understands the power
Of the blank page.

Words, of course,
Are powerful
In their own right.
But nothing can beat
A pale, empty sheet
In it's ability to bring
The best or worst
Out of a person.

Even as I use my
Pen on this paper
I can't possibly know
Where it will lead.

I do, of course,
Have ideas
And write them down
Accordingly.
But that doesn't mean
These ideas are complete-
They can be as fragmented
As I wish.

I could end here
And retract my pen,
Leaving you to wonder
When the time went.

Or I could even
Leave you with a point
That would be cause
For debate
And make you think.
As it is, you won't get
To take back the seconds that you spent
Reading this.

Think about it.
Why do we waste
So much time
While our lives tick perilously on?
